Overview

L. Rose Recruiting is partnering with a privately held consumer products company operating in the installation and mounting systems space to hire a hands-on E-Commerce Operations & Supply Chain Manager. This role is on-site and best suited for an operator who leads by doing and is comfortable being in the weeds while building scalable systems in a B2C, direct-to-consumer environment.

Who We Are

Our client is a growing consumer products business selling physical products through direct-to-consumer, marketplace, and wholesale channels. The organization is intentionally small, with limited layers and a strong emphasis on ownership, accountability, and practical problem-solving.

Leaders are expected to stay close to the work, make real-time decisions, and build structure that supports growth without introducing unnecessary complexity.

Who You Are

You are a hands-on operations manager who has owned and improved end-to-end operational processes in a small or lean organization. You are comfortable working in the details, making data-driven decisions, and supporting a small team while remaining directly involved in execution.

This role is not suited for a manage-from-a-distance leader or someone coming from highly layered enterprise environments. You lead by doing, take ownership of outcomes, and are comfortable balancing priorities as the business evolves.

You thrive in environments where priorities shift, problems are solved in real time, and systems are built while the business is running.

What You Will Do
  • Own the full lifecycle of physical products, from purchasing and production planning through inventory management and fulfillment across direct-to-consumer, marketplace, and wholesale channels
  • Lead day-to-day e-commerce operations from an execution and fulfillment standpoint, including purchasing, inventory accuracy, and order flow
  • Work closely with the CEO to align operational execution with business priorities, translating goals into clear plans and daily action
  • Manage purchasing, procurement, and supplier relationships with domestic and international manufacturers, making tradeoffs to balance cost, lead time, and quality
  • Plan production schedules, manage lead times, and oversee inbound logistics
  • Build, maintain, and adjust demand forecasts for current and new product lines
  • Maintain accurate inventory across internal warehouses and third-party logistics partners
  • Oversee fulfillment operations, ensuring outbound orders are accurate, on time, and meet quality expectations
  • Manage third-party logistics providers and hold them accountable to service levels, performance metrics, and cost targets
How You Will Do It
  • Lead and support a small internal operations team and offshore resources
  • Build and refine workflows from purchase order through final delivery
  • Make clear tradeoffs between cost, speed, and service to support profitable growth
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and margin
  • Support ERP implementation or optimization and system integrations
  • Develop dashboards and reporting for supply chain, inventory, and fulfillment performance
  • Create and maintain practical, lightweight SOPs that support execution without slowing the business down
What Success Looks Like
  • Inventory is accurate and appropriately positioned across channels
  • Orders ship on time and customers have a consistently strong experience
  • Forecasts are data-driven and continuously refined
  • Costs, service levels, and tradeoffs are actively managed
  • Operations run smoothly without constant escalation
  • The business has the right product in the right place at the right cost
Requirements

What You Bring

  • 5–8 years of experience in e-commerce operations, supply chain, purchasing, fulfillment, or related roles
  • Experience working in small, lean organizations where leaders wear multiple hats
  • Strong background in physical consumer products and multi-channel distribution
  • Hands-on experience supporting direct-to-consumer or e-commerce businesses
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers and manufacturing partners
  • Hands-on experience implementing or supporting ERP systems
  • A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and cost discipline
  • Comfort operating at a fast pace in an environment where priorities evolve
