Job Summary
The Cultural Representative Program is a twelve-month work experience located at Walt Disney World® Resort, near Orlando, Florida. It is an opportunity to be immersed in different cultures from around the world and build lifelong relationships.
Participants need to be able to authentically represent and showcase the distinctive cultures and traditions of one of the countries or regions we have recreated in look and ambiance at the Walt Disney World Resort. They will also be interacting with people from across the globe and crafting immersive experiences for our guests, while fulfilling various front‑line, customer‑facing roles!
Countries and regions represented are:
Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Norway, Sub‑Saharan Africa (Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe), and United Kingdom.
This application is for positions that will have different start dates throughout 2027.

Responsibilities Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge – Savanna Guide- Engage guests in informal conversations on topics such as wildlife, animal behaviour, animal care and conservation, and your heritage, your individual country and the continent of Africa.
- Initiate conversations with small and large groups of people and adjust conversation content to a variety of age levels.
- Lead a variety of cultural and animal‑related activities for guests of all ages, including families with young children.
- Increase knowledge regarding wildlife and conservation‑related issues and share it with guests.
- Ensure guest safety in animal viewing areas.
- Provide resort and park information to guests.
- Maintain guest areas show‑ready.
- Utilize a computerized reservation system for seating guests in the restaurant.
- Escort guests to tables while showcasing the restaurant theme.
- Enhance guests’ cultural awareness through stories about your country and African cuisine.
- Set and stock tables, carts, and restaurant side stations.
- Handle cash manually and using computerized registers.
- Buss tables, clean kitchen and counter equipment, empty trash cans.
- Lead a variety of cultural activities for guests of all ages, including families with young children.
- Perform heavy lifting.
- Proactively greet every guest that enters or leaves the resort with a traditional African greeting.
- Enhance guests’ cultural awareness through stories about your country and African heritage.

- Be capable of working independently and be a self‑starter.
- Maintain guest areas show‑ready.
To be eligible to apply for the Sub‑Saharan Africa Cultural Representative Program, you must:
- Speak English fluently.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be able to authentically represent Sub‑Saharan Africa.
- Be receptive to Disney Look guidelines.
- Be fully available to work Sunday through Saturday, including days and nights, holidays and overtime.
Pre‑selected candidates will be invited and required to attend an in‑person presentation and interview. The presentations will take place in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Namibia or Botswana in April 2026. No virtual presentation/interviews will be available.

Cast members will earn an hourly rate of pay starting at $19.00 per hour, depending on the role they are selected to perform.
