Business Development Specialist, Orlando
A well-respected law firm is seeking a Business Development Specialist in the Orlando office.
The Business Development Specialist supports the firm’s growth initiatives by assisting with business development planning, pitch and proposal development, client and prospect research, and opportunity tracking. This role works closely with partners, practice groups, and the Marketing team to convert market visibility into new business and expanded client relationships. The Specialist should be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, attorney-facing environment.
EssentialFunctions
- Assist with execution of practice group and partner-level business development plans
- Track priority clients, prospects, and industries to support targeting initiatives
- Coordinate activities aligned with firm and practice growth objectives
- Maintain and track opportunities within the firm’s CRM system
- Ensure accurate pipeline data, including opportunity status and next steps
- Support reporting for business development and leadership dashboards
- Identify opportunities to build the firm’s brand (events, sponsor ships, speaking, media, etc.)
- Maintain pitch materials, experience databases, and proposal content
- Track pitch outcomes and assist with feedback collection
- Prepare business development materials, including pitches, proposals, and RFP responses
- Conduct research on prospective clients, industries, competitors, and market trends
- Prepare briefing materials for partner meetings and pitches
- Partner with Marketing to leverage campaigns and firmwide initiatives
- Support process improvements for BD tools, templates, and workflows
- Assist with CRM adoption and data quality efforts
- Coordinate with Finance and other teams for reporting support
- Plan and execute business development events
- Manage client event logistics and ticket distribution
- Attend conferences and support follow-up outreach initiatives
- Additional tasks as assigned
- Strong grammar, writing, and attention to detail
- Ability to analyze business materials, reports, and industry data
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact with attorneys and stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
- 3–6 years of business development, marketing, or sales support experience (professional services preferred)
- Experience supporting professional services marketing initiatives (law firm experience a plus)
- Familiarity with marketing channels including digital, social media, and content marketing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with CRM systems and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation
- Sitting, typing, and computer use
- Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds
Regular communication (talking/hearing) - In-office presence required (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM core hours)
