Senior Business Support Specialist (Billing Quality Assurance)

OUC - The Reliable One is actively seeking a Senior Business Support Specialist in the Customer Experience & Sales division. The role bridges billing operations, quality assurance, analysts, trainers, and leadership, ensuring the complex billing ecosystem runs with precision and confidence.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality data validation, operational insights, and reporting using SQL, Excel, Cognos, Power BI, and other enterprise systems.
  • Maintain and improve tools that keep billing and rate processes accurate, including dashboards, spreadsheets, and ad hoc analysis used across the department.
  • Manage annual billing schedules and rate updates for OUC and key municipal partners, ensuring everything is implemented correctly and on time.
  • Support testing, quality checks, and process documentation for major system changes and cross‑functional projects.
  • Monitor exceptions and revenue‑loss scenarios to protect organizational accuracy and financial integrity.
  • Serve as an advisor and subject‑matter partner to analysts, trainers, and leadership, translating complex operational data into clear guidance and decisions.
  • Over time, influence expands into department‑wide support, vendor and budget coordination, and broader process‑improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field from an accredited university or college. Two (2) years of relevant experience may substitute for one year of education shortfall.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of supporting business operations, including experience in leading projects, program and team leadership, budget/accounting coordination, financial data research, developing operational reports, and analysis of business operations.
  • Additional experience in the functional area of assignment is preferred.
  • Utility experience is preferred.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient with ERP software (JD Edwards Enterprise One) and other relevant business operations tools.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify problems/opportunities, interpret policies, and propose solutions.
  • Capability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects to meet deadlines; lead projects/processes and provide guidance and training to other employees.
  • Understanding of governmental accounting practices and ability to produce reports, documents, manuals, and guides for the functional area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and standard office equipment.
Compensation & Benefits

Competitive compensation ranging from $38,077 to $47,596 per hour, commensurate with experience.
