We are seeking a Project Operations Analyst to provide hands‑on support to project managers and business leaders across day‑to‑day operational and project delivery activities. This role is a critical resource for PMs navigating project setup, forecasting, and cost management, while also supporting leadership with financial analysis and performance reporting.
Responsibilities- Support project managers with project setup, cost tracking, forecasting, estimate at completion (EAC) analysis, and project reviews
- Monitor project portfolio performance including margin variance, unbilled, and A/R, and partner with PMs to address issues proactively
- Provide financial and operational analysis to division and market leadership to support decision‑making and performance improvement
- Prepare monthly financial reports, quarterly forecasts, and preliminary project budgets for assigned markets or business units
- Assist with opportunity and pursuit tracking, project execution pricing models, and risk management activities
- Serve as a day‑to‑day resource and advocate for project managers, providing guidance on company policies, procedures, and project delivery tools
- Develop job aids, tracking tools, and templates that simplify project delivery workflows and improve PM compliance
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely project data in ERP and reporting systems
- 4-7 years of experience in project controls, operations coordination, or PMO support within AEC or professional services
- Hands‑on experience supporting PMs with project setup, cost management, and forecasting
- Strong analytical and Excel skills; experience with financial modeling, variance analysis, and performance reporting
- Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms
- Working knowledge of PMI project management frameworks and lifecycle
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across project teams and business units
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, growing environment
- Experience developing cost management tracking tools or operational dashboards
- Background in individual training or coaching project managers on financial performance
- Familiarity with AEC industry project delivery models and market structures
