Senior Financial Analyst, Direct Bill Strategy & Allocations
The Senior Financial Analyst, Direct Bill Strategy & Allocations will support and help shape the strategy for enterprise-level direct bill financial operations. This role will be responsible for developing financial models, allocation methodologies, documentation, dashboards, forecasting support, and financial analysis for enterprise vendor contracts, ELAs, AI tools, and other shared technology agreements.
In addition to owning financial modeling and analytical execution, this position will serve as a thought partner in designing a scalable, transparent, and well-governed direct bill model for the organization. The analyst will help define how direct bill processes should evolve, how costs should be allocated, how data should be governed, and how stakeholders should receive visibility into charges, forecasts, and financial impacts.
This role requires strong financial modeling, allocation, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to work across Finance, Vendor Management, Technology, Controllership, Sourcing, and Segment teams.
Responsibilities- Help develop and refine the overall strategy for enterprise direct bill financial operations.
- Partner with leadership to design scalable processes for direct bill modeling, reporting, documentation, governance, and stakeholder support.
- Recommend improvements to allocation methodologies, cost driver selection, data governance, dashboard design, and financial transparency.
- Identify opportunities to standardize direct bill processes across enterprise vendor contracts, ELAs, AI tools, and shared technology services.
- Serve as a financial thought partner on how direct bill should evolve as additional contracts, vendors, and tools move under the team's responsibility.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models used to allocate enterprise vendor costs across segments, services, products, or business units.
- Create and support allocation methodologies based on contract terms, usage data, license counts, service ownership, business rules, or other agreed-upon cost drivers.
- Validate allocation outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness, and alignment with approved methodology.
- Analyze vendor spend and billing data to determine direct bill treatment, allocation logic, and financial impact.
- Support model versioning, change tracking, and ongoing maintenance as contracts, usage, and business requirements change.
- Support forecasting and planning activities for enterprise direct bill vendor spend.
- Analyze actuals, forecast, budget, prior year, and allocation changes to explain key drivers and variances.
- Help identify future financial impacts tied to contract renewals, usage growth, new tools, decommissions, vendor changes, or business demand.
- Prepare financial insights and recommendations to support leadership decisions.
- Maintain and enhance direct bill dashboards and reporting.
- Provide visibility into vendor costs, segment charges, allocation drivers, trends, forecasts, and financial impacts.
- Support self-service reporting and improve stakeholder access to direct bill data.
- Identify data quality issues and partner with the appropriate teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Create and maintain documentation for direct bill models, allocation methodologies, assumptions, data sources, business rules, and process changes.
- Support governance around allocation decisions, methodology updates, stakeholder reviews, and approvals.
- Ensure direct bill processes are repeatable, auditable, and clearly documented.
- Develop standard operating procedures and reference materials for direct bill activities.
- Serve as a key point of contact for Segment Finance and business stakeholders regarding direct bill charges, allocation methodology, dashboards, and cost changes.
- Translate complex financial models and allocation logic into clear, business-friendly explanations.
- Partner with Vendor Management, Finance, Controllership, Sourcing, Technology, and Segment teams to validate data and support accurate billing outcomes.
- Help resolve questions, disputes, or escalations related to direct bill charges.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and scale direct bill operations.
- Support automation opportunities using Excel, Power Query, Power BI, Com Sci, Apptio, Tableau, workflow tools, or similar platforms.
- Recommend improvements to financial controls, reporting processes, data intake, model governance, and stakeholder communication.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Technology Business Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Strong financial modeling, allocation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cost allocations, chargebacks, direct billing, shared services, vendor spend, or enterprise financial planning.
