MEDICAID FRAUD ANALYST II – 1
Position Summary
Medicaid Fraud Analyst II in the Office of the Attorney General within the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, based in Orlando with the option to relocate to Tallahassee. The analyst provides analytical support for attorneys and investigators on state‑specific and multistate health‑care fraud investigations. Responsibilities include detailed research, data analysis, report creation, and data extraction from investigative databases. The analyst may also lead specialized complex civil investigations and serve as an instructor on the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) for regional offices.
Pay$57,783.18 annually.
Qualifications- Five (5) years of experience in research, investigations, investigative analysis, or statistics; or
A Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year of professional experience in the same fields. - Preference for candidates with experience compiling and analyzing investigative information, and proficiency with spreadsheets and relational database applications.
All applicants who meet the screening criteria will be required to complete a timed Skills Verification Test. A score of at least 70% is required to proceed to the interview phase.
Responsibilities- 35% Create customized downloads from the online Medicaid claims data warehouse for investigators, attorneys, and multistate teams.
- 25% Prepare reports, schedules, and charts for criminal prosecution, civil actions, and administrative referrals.
- 20% Assist investigators and attorneys in compiling and analyzing investigative data and developing damages models. This involves interpreting large data sets, calculating program damages, recognizing patterns, and briefing staff.
- 10% Extract information from investigative databases, compile and disseminate intelligence information, and perform related computer tasks.
- 5% Assist in the prosecution of Medicaid fraud or patient abuse, including court testimony.
- 5% Perform other duties as assigned.
