Description:
Ronald McDonald House Charities ® of Central Florida (RMHCCF) findscreatesand supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families. Our cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House ® (RMH), provides a “home-away-from-home” that offers comfort and care to families of children being treated at local hospitals and medical facilities. There are three Ronald McDonald House locations in Central Florida on the campuses of Advent Health for Children, Orlando Health, and our third Nemours Children’s Health.
The Events Intern will engage ina number of projects over the course of 12-16 weeksthat will introduce them to the daily nature of nonprofit organizations and will support the Development staff with projects andtasks asthey develop.
Learning Outcomes- To develop a broad understanding and appreciation of the nonprofit sector and the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit professionals.
- To build experience in a professional work environment while gaining experience working independently and in teams.
- To strengthen or build skill sets byutilizingthem in a variety of working conditions such as public speaking, managing projects and deadlines, timemanagementand attention to detail.
- Ifstudentis seeking this internship for academic credit,additionallearning outcomes and requirements will be discussed withstudentto meet the needs of the course.
- Cultivate relationships and request donations for raffle/auction items.
- Enter items into
OneCause, upload images/descriptions. - Print/build signage and package auction items.
- Follow up with auction winners to coordinate payment for outstanding charges, as well as pickup/shipping.
- Print and assemble event-specific materials.
- Assist with event setup items, check-in, and auctiontablepre-event support.
- Support post-event stewardship
- Follow up with outstanding payments from attendees and sponsors
- Assist with mailings associated with sponsorship,solicitation,receipts, acknowledgements, etc.
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Detail-oriented and well-organized
- Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Able to successfully work in a collaborative, team-oriented organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Be able to accept constructive feedback in a professional manner throughout internship.
- Must be enrolled in an institution of higher education in a degree seeking program.
- Must be available to work within the required time period during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5p.mincluding some night and weekends; schedule developed based on student’s availability.
- Musthave reliable transportation.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. and sit or stand for extended periods of time.
