Our Road & Infrastructure Division supports major public and private clients across Florida. We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Orlando, FL.
PositionSummary
The Assistant Project Manager will support overall project execution across roadway, civil, drainage, and utility construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and according to plan. The ideal candidate enjoys hands‑on involvement, problem-solving, and helping drive successful infrastructure project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Project Manager with day‑to‑day operations of active roadway and infrastructure projects
- Assist with estimating activities, including quantity take‑offs and evaluating subcontractor/vendor proposals
- Help verify subcontractor pay applications and monthly billing documentation
- Participate in internal scheduling meetings and help maintain project schedules
- Assist in developing project plans, logistics, and work sequences
- Support the preparation of project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change order packages
- Monitor and track productivity, cost, and progress using company tools and systems
- Perform material take‑offs and assist in procurement, ordering, and tracking deliveries
- Conduct routine job‑site visits, field observations, and support project coordination between office and field teams
- Participate in safety walks and ensure compliance with project safety standards
- Assist with documentation for claims, delays, and project reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong interest in civil construction, roadway work, and project management
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, field personnel, and subcontractors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities and support multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and basic engineering concepts (preferred but not required)
