Job Summary

Full‑time Electrical Estimator for commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze blueprints to determine wire lengths, outlet placement, and compliance with electrical codes.
  • Determine the amount, type, and cost of materials and fixtures needed for each project.
  • Determine the amount of labor required to complete each project.
  • Determine the potential profitability of projects to assist management in bidding decisions.
  • Update cost databases to reflect fluctuating material and labor costs.
  • Evaluate labor and material costs to choose between construction and subcontracting.
  • Build cost estimates by analyzing materials and labor for projects.
  • Analyze waste and delays, propose solutions to minimize impact.
  • Identify project risks, develop production schedules.
  • Prepare work guidelines and design distribution systems for new clients.
  • Liaise and communicate with customers, recommend locations, wire, and transformer sizes.
  • Review building plans to determine electrical needs.
  • Review supplier costs, negotiate best prices.
  • Maintain cost databases and outline common costs for future estimates.
Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Highly organized with solid time‑management abilities.
  • Detail oriented.
Job Requirements
  • Experience in the Commercial Electrical field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Certification through ASPE or AACE is advantageous.
Compensation
  • Competitive wages: $40,000 to $48,000 annual salary.
  • Performance bonus and end‑of‑year bonus.
  • Travel per diem.
