Concrete Finisher
The concrete finisher is responsible for the overall quality of leveling and texturizing of concrete pavements, sidewalks, driveways, etc. on concrete surfaces on our jobs. Must be able to work as part of a team to accomplish a common goal as directed by the Foreman.
Essential Functions
- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Maintain consistent quality and workmanship texture in paving and handwork.
- Checks the concrete forms for appropriate depths and angles before the concrete is poured.
- Ensure construction per plan requirements.
- Assure all joints are properly matched.
- Cuts and removes all surface imperfections before the concrete has fully hardened.
- Assist in handwork, prep work and cleanup as directed by the foreman.
- Performs all functions as directed by foreman in conjunction with preparation, layout, cleaning, compaction, and finishing operations.
- Able to work with slip form paver at single and dual lane widths.
Other Understand and comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations. Assists with loading and unloading trucks & deliveries.

Supervisory Requirements
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment This is field based role. Employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust, concrete and asphalt.
Physical Demands The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work. Average +/-50 hours per week.
Travel
- The role may require some travel.
Required Education and Experience
- 3-5 years concrete finisher experience.
- Must adhere to OSHA safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment
- Must be reliable/have reliable transportation
- Has worked around slip form paver.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Takes full ownership of assigned projects and can work independently
Additional Eligibility Requirements Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment.
