- Develop project budgets and cost forecasts based on project scope, historical data, and market conditions.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction lifecycle and compare actual spending against budgets.
- Prepare detailed cost reports, variance analyses, and financial forecasts for executive leadership.
- Review draw requests, inspect project progress, and evaluate construction costs for accuracy.
- Assess contractor performance, schedules, feasibility reports, and financial impacts during project planning.
- Identify financial risks and recommend proactive solutions to minimize budget overruns.
- Review bids and procurement packages, providing cost analysis and recommendations.
- Manage change orders, including evaluating cost impacts and maintaining accurate budget revisions.
- Maintain complete project cost documentation and reporting throughout each phase of construction.
- Partner with project managers, estimators, accounting, finance, and executive leadership to ensure financial success across multiple projects.
- Evaluate and improve cost control processes, reporting tools, and financial workflows.
- 5+ years of experience in construction cost control, quantity surveying, construction estimating, project controls, or construction finance.
- Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting for commercial construction projects.
- Knowledge of draw inspections, project feasibility analysis, and construction cost management.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Plan Grid, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with accounting and financial software such as Sage, Quick Books, or equivalent ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or similar industry certification.
- Experience supporting commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Background managing financial risk and cost controls across multiple concurrent projects.
Competitive base salary of $125,000-$150,000, depending on experience.
