Job Description – Oral and Facial Surgeons of Mid-Florida

Surgical Assistant (Full-Time)

Job Purpose:

To assist the doctor in providing excellent patient care and comfort.

• Opening & Closing office
• Set up & break down surgery rooms
• Assisting in surgery
• Monitor sedated patients
• Sterilization of surgical instruments
• Unloading Autoclaves & storage of instruments
• Transport courier bag & supplies between offices
• Stock & maintain cleanliness of office ( includes mopping & emptying trash cans)
• Maintain office equipment
• Charting
• Obtain & track Medical Clearance
• Maintain knowledge of crash cart
• Notify supervisor of supply needs
• Assist front staff as schedule allows
• All other duties as may be requested by Doctors or Supervisors

Good interpersonal skills to maintain smooth running team environment throughout the office. Setting the example for all other employees and maintaining a professional atmosphere at all times

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook including data entry skills

Effective writing skills to prepare and update manuals and effective verbal skills to coach staff and communicate to Doctor, referring dentists, parents and patients

High level of attention to detail and organization and ability to multi task

• Knowledge of EHR
• 1 year experience – Preferred
• CPR Certified

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
