Job Description & How to Apply Below
We’re looking for a creative, design-obsessed Interior Designer to join our Hospitality Studio—someone who thrives on turning ideas into immersive, memorable environments.
If you love restaurants, energy, storytelling, and spaces that feel alive, you’ll fit right in.
About Gravity Architecture + DesignFor over 30 years, Gravity has brought together Architects, Interior Designers, Brand Creatives, and Visualization Artists to design hospitality-driven experiences across the country and around the world.
From restaurants and entertainment venues to lifestyle destinations, our work is all about one thing:
We’re not a typical architecture and design firm—and we don’t follow the script.
We’re based in Orlando and have a touchdown office in Chicago as well!
What You’ll Be Doing- Designing restaurants, bars, and experiential spaces from initial concept & brand development through Design Development Drawings (and Construction Drawings when we want to!)
- Building 3D models in Sketch Up to bring concepts to life, including both interior and exterior design. We find this helps convey our vision.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, zoning, and regulatory standards.
- Work as a part of a fast-moving, highly collaborative studio where ideas are constantly evolving.
- Manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously while having strong time management skills.
- Research and integrate materials, trends, and emerging technologies
.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited university
- 0–5+ years of experience, preferably in hospitality or F&B environments
- Bonus points if you’re working toward NCIDQ licensure or are licensed
- Strong skills in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Suite, and AI-based design software/tools.
- Experience producing Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents.
- Someone who can think conceptually and execute technically
- A designer who notices everything—materials, lighting, mood, flow, and function of a space.
- A team player who can keep up in a fast-paced, studio environment while managing multiple projects.
- Candidates must be fluent in English and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You’ll work directly with Principals and Senior Staff, offering you the opportunity to learn from those with a wide range of experience in the industry.
- You’ll be part of a team that values design, creativity, and fresh thinking.
- You’ll work on a wide range of projects across the country, with opportunities to visit sites and see the work firsthand.
- You’ll grow quickly while taking ownership of your work—seeing projects through from concept to construction.
- Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)
- PTO + Holidays (grows with years accrued at the company)
- 401K with match (after eligibility period)
- Team events and studio culture initiatives
- Opportunity for fast-paced growth within a design-focused firm
- Exposure to restaurant, entertainment, and hospitality projects nationwide.
Schedule:
- 8 Hour Shift
- Monday to Friday
- In Person-Office
