Description:

Huitt-Zollars has an excellent full-time opportunity for an Architectural Staff I at our Orlando office. This is an excellent opportunity for professional growth and career advancement. The successful candidate will collaborate with a knowledgeable team of architects and designers and contribute daily to our work and culture. You will be joining a growing creative and energetic team working on diverse projects including commercial entertainment, master planning, and hospitality.

Candidates should have a minimum 4+ years of experience and strong desire to work in commercial works where guest and visitor experience drives concepts and design. This position supports architects, project managers, and designers in preparing design, presentation, and construction drawings, as well as assisting in construction contract administration for projects. Candidate must possess proven teamwork abilities and be flexible in assignments.

Duties
  • Simultaneous work on a minimum of 2-3 projects at various stages of development.
  • Prepares project designs and construction documents using BIM software and equipment.
  • Prepares various documents during the course of the project development including meeting minutes, project specifications, agency applications, etc.
  • Visit project sites under the direction of a supervisor and assist with the documentation of findings, if needed.
  • Research materials, assemblies, or building codes for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings as directed by a supervisor.
  • Integrate information from consultants and suppliers into Revit Models for documentation.
  • Be motivated and excited for commercial projects as entertainment and hospitality, with a drive to research and be current in market direction, projects, and new advancements in the industry.
  • Contribute ideas, research, testing, and sketching for creative pursuit and direction.
  • Assist in the processing of contractor submittals and RFIs by logging in the documents and routing them to the appropriate party for review.
  • Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence if needed.
  • Assist or prepare graphic materials for presentation or documents.
  • Select and prepare material finish boards/binders.
  • Some travel to construction job sites and client meetings.
Qualifications
  • Completed Master's in Architecture preferred.
  • Minimum 4+ years of related experience in commercial projects.
  • Must be engaged in AXP and actively pursuing licensure.
  • Ability to read redlines and modify Revit models and other documents accurately from redlines.
  • Proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem solving/analysis, and technical capacity to research and apply building codes.
  • Drawing/sketching skills; both hand and digital
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong task-oriented time management.
  • Possess collaborative teamwork abilities.
