The Valencia College Nursing Program offers a two‑year Associate in Science (A.S.N.) degree program as well as a four‑year Nursing Bachelor of Science (B.S.N.) degree program. With approximately 600 students, both degrees offer opportunities for specialization. Nationally accredited and highly regarded, these programs combine rigorous classroom instruction with hands‑on clinical experiences, equipping future nurses with the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
FacultyResponsibilities
- Teach Med Surg courses with a focus on NUR prefixes.
- Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including:
- Teaching
- Course preparation
- Student engagement
- Professional development
- Institutional service
- Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution with a major in nursing by the official start date (August 2026), and maintain expertise in the area of responsibility.
- Must have current, active, and unencumbered licensure in the State as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner, or eligibility to obtain by the start date of August 18, 2026.
- This position will require face‑to‑face teaching modalities.
- Fall: 12 contact hours
- Spring: 12 contact hours
- Summer: 12 contact hours – A contact hour refers to one hour of direct instructional time with students per week.
- MA: $73,288 – $90,621 per year
- M+30: $78,537 – $95,870 per year
- DR: $83,786 – $101,119 per year
Note: This position qualifies for a Valencia College Pay Additive of $10,000 to be paid in biweekly installments in addition to the annual salary.

- Associate Professors:
Full‑time instructional faculty eligible for a continuing contract and will undergo the five‑year process. Upon successful completion, the position will transition into a Professor position. - Applicants with degrees from institutions outside of the United States must complete the following steps:
- Provide a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts and degrees. It is the applicant’s responsibility to have any foreign transcripts evaluated prior to submission through an authorized evaluation service such as World Education Services.
- This position is not eligible for Veteran’s Preference under Florida Statute 295.07(5)(a), F.S.
