Media Specialist

St. Andrew Catholic School in Coral Springs, Florida, has an opening for the upcoming 2025-26 school year for a qualified full-time Media Specialist. This candidate will be expected to instruct on media literacy and search for information sources to find data. S/he performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

• Work closely with teachers to design authentic learning tasks and assessments and integrate information and communication abilities required to meet content standards.
• Provide leadership and expertise in acquiring and evaluating information resources in all formats.
• Bring awareness of information issues into collaborative relationships with teachers, administrators, students, and others.
• Demonstrate strategies for locating, accessing, and evaluating information within and beyond the library media center.
• Master sophisticated electronic resources while maintaining a constant focus on the nature, quality, and ethical use of information available in these and other tools.
• Work collaboratively with members of the learning community to define the policies of the library media program and to guide and direct all the activities related to the program.
• Advocate for the library media program in support of the school improvement plan and provide appropriate knowledge, vision, and leadership for doing so.
• Manage staff, budgets, equipment and facilities, and orders materials.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate the program to ensure its quality both long-term and short-term.

• BS / BA Degree in Library Science, Education, or related field.
• Florida Department of Education Teaching Certificate in Elementary education, temporary or professional.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred.
• Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
• Excellent presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
• Must have knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
• Excellent oral and written English language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
• Good spelling and grammar are required.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel;
  PowerPoint a plus.
