Responsibilities- Provides one on one or small group tutoring to currently enrolled students in a particular discipline.
- Assesses academic ability of students being tutored using provided measurement instruments.
- Meets with supervisory staff on a regularly scheduled basis to discuss academic progress of students being tutored.
- Assists supervisor with academic needs assessment.
- Documents student progress for each session using provided instruments.
- Implements an academic action plan for each session using provided instruments.
- Participates in staff development training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Must have evidence of successful completion of college level academic work.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisor and other faculty.
- Ability to work a variety of hours, which includes nights and weekends.
- Ability to use computer hardware and software programs related to discipline area.
- Ability to tutor individuals or small groups of students in advanced coursework.
- Ability to use appropriate learning techniques/strategies to achieve specific learning outcomes.
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
The typical physical competencies include frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
