Specialist, Testing & Assessment

Valencia College is now hiring a part–time Specialist, Testing & Assessment to join the Testing and Assessment Center at the West campus. The role coordinates, administers, and oversees assessments and examinations.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise the administration of standardized tests and assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with testing policies, procedures, and security protocols.
  • Provide information to students at all levels of the testing and assessment process.
  • Ensure eligibility of students taking assessments.
  • Administer and monitor standardized assessments.
  • Assist in administering and supervising assessments as directed.
  • Maintain security and integrity of assessments and the assessment environment, and ensure optimal testing conditions.
  • Respond to telephone and in‑person inquiries regarding the assessment/testing process and other enrollment steps.
  • Maintain records of assessments and provide periodic reports.
  • Access, input, and retrieve data from applications such as Banner and testing agency sites.
  • Guide students in the use of Atlas in the enrollment process.
  • Adhere to CLEP requirements to proctor exams if employed at West, East, and Osceola Assessment Centers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (preferred).
  • Experience with test administration, computer scanning, scoring, and supervision.
  • Progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of computer systems.
  • Knowledge of assessment programs (PERT, CLEP, TEAS, CJBAT).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse people, departments, and students.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, apply knowledge, and maintain security of assessment programs.
  • Must complete required certification(s) to proctor exams within 20 business days of hire.

  • This position operates in a fully onsite environment.
