Job Description:

* Demonstrates Advent Health service standards in all interactions.

* Follows all Early Learning Center, the Department of Children and Families, Department of Health, Office of Head Start regulations for health, safety, and childcare.

* Supervises and manages daily classroom functions for an assigned group of children.

* Conducts developmental screenings and assessments with the support teacher.

* Implements approved lesson plans and schedules aligned with Primrose Balanced Learning and CREATION Kids.

* Leads weekly classroom team meetings for planning and reviewing children's needs.

* Maintains an engaging environment that fosters positive interactions and good decision‑making.

* Sets clear expectations and uses appropriate behavior‑management strategies.

* Manages classroom documentation, records, reports, and required technology.

* Plans and conducts two parent‑teacher conferences and two home visits per program year.

* Ensures classroom practices align with Office of Early Learning guidelines and curriculum directives.

* Encourages parent and community involvement to support outreach and in‑kind efforts.

* Completes classroom and playground housekeeping duties and daily/monthly safety checklists.

* Attends required meetings and trainings, reports suspected abuse, and maintains professional appearance.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Knowledge of and ability to adhere School Readiness and Head Start Performance Standards [Required]

* Knowledge of purpose-built communities, collective impact or the ability to learn [Required]

* Knowledge of the intersect of health and education or the ability to learn [Required]

* Knowledge of faith-based learning models or the ability to adapt to curricula [Required]

* Knowledge and experience working with programs such as early head start, school readiness and the 4C food program [Preferred]

* Working in underserved zip codes and/or working in mixed income neighborhoods [Preferred]

Work Experience:

* 2+ of professional teaching experience [Required]

* 4+ of professional teaching experience [Preferred]

Additional Information:

* Must meet and complete criteria for level 2 background screening as required for childcare personnel in childcare licensing regulation [Required]

Licenses and

Certifications:

* Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) [Required]

* First Aid CPR AED (CPR AED) [Preferred]
