About the School of Biological and Physical Sciences:
The School of Biological and Physical Sciences fosters an appreciation for the wonders of science while preparing students for meaningful careers and lifelong learning. Our faculty are dedicated to excellence in teaching and learning, valuing both the technical and human dimensions of education. The School of Biological and Physical Sciences encompasses the disciplines of Astronomy, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Nutrition, Plant Science, and Physics.

• Fall: 15 contact hours
• Spring: 15 contact hours
• Summer: 6 contact hours

Note: A contact hour refers to one hour of direct instructional time with students per week. For example, a course that meets three hours per week counts as 3 contact hours. The length of a contract is in accordance with the academic calendar.

• Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution with a major in biology, botany, zoology, or a related biological science subfield OR 18 graduate semester hours in the field and a master’s degree by the official start date (August 2026).
• This position primarily involves face‑to‑face instruction, with occasional opportunities to teach in mixed‑mode and online formats.
  Note: Mixed‑Mode is a hybrid modality that includes face‑to‑face and asynchronous online instruction weekly.
• You will need to establish and maintain Florida residency if selected for this position.

Masters: $67,437 – $83,387 per year

Master’s +30: $72,267 – $88,217 per year

Doctorate: $77,097 – $93,047 per year

• Associate Professors:
  Full‑time instructional faculty eligible for a continuing contract and will undergo the five‑year process. Upon successful completion, the position will transition into a Professor position.
• Applicants with degrees from institutions outside of the United States must provide a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts and degrees prior to submission.
• This position is not eligible for Veteran’s Preference under Florida Statute 295.07(5)(a), F.S.
