Teacher - Colegio Bilingue

St. John Vianney Catholic School is seeking an energetic and passionate Teacher that can teach all content areas.

A dynamic certified educator to teach in our 50/50 dual-language immersion program. The teacher must be a qualified professional educator who meets the requirements to teach in a Catholic school in the Diocese of Orlando.

Applicants must hold or be eligible for a valid Florida Educators certification, be self-motivated and energetic. ESE & ESOL certified a plus. SJVS is seeking applicants with knowledge of State Standards, technology integration, and standard-based instruction. Experience in evaluating, documenting, and communicating individual student growth, differentiation strategies, classroom management and willingness to participate in professional development opportunities, a plus. Applicants must be comfortable in a Catholic faith-based setting with a dedication to the St.

John Vianney Catholic School mission.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities: The teacher will be expected to:

• Conduct 100% of instruction in the target language for that subject.
• Coordinate thematic instruction across languages.
• Teach grade level content
• Structure activities in the classroom to encourage students to engage in the target language.
• Create targeted and purposeful opportunities to foster cross-linguistic connections
• Cover assigned staff duties, including recess supervision, as well as other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the school administration.
• Integrate technology effectively into the classroom.
• Organize and direct lessons and activities related to the standards.
• Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines.
• Provide grade-appropriate instructional program of engaging and interactive activities/lessons.
• Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of St. John Vianney Catholic School and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management.
• Assess and document student progress.
• Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from an Accredited College or University.
• Current Florida Teaching Certificate.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a Catholic school setting is preferred.
• Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings.
• Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church.
• Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Catholic Church or the policies of the diocese.

Qualifications: While not required, the most competitive candidates will:

• Training in literacy development, as it pertains to multilingual learners.
