Position Summary:

The VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 4-5. The teacher will implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with VPK standards, support children's social and emotional growth, and prepare students for kindergarten readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement daily lesson plans aligned with VPK standards and curriculum

• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

• Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development

• Monitor and assess student progress and maintain accurate records

• Prepare children for kindergarten by focusing on early literacy, math, and social skills

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities

• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety standards

• Supervise children at all times, including during indoor and outdoor activities

• Collaborate with staff and participate in meetings, trainings, and school events

Qualifications:

• CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or higher in Early Childhood Education (required)

• VPK Endorsement (required)

• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred

• Knowledge of early childhood development and VPK standards

• Strong communication and classroom management skills

• CPR/First Aid Certification

• Background screening in compliance with state regulations

Skills & Abilities:

• Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children

• Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team

Work Schedule:

• School hours are Monday
- Friday: 7:30am- 4:00pm
