Specific Tasks:

Conceptualization, implementation, supervision, evaluation, and budget management of an annual schedule of in-house and outreach educational programs and services including, but not limited to, gallery tours, film programs, lectures, panel discussions, art appreciation classes, studio workshops, educational travel, and special educational events for adult and teen audiences.

Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate community access programs for adults and youth with disabilities.

Work collaboratively with education and curatorial staff to ensure the best visitor experience with the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, producing diverse strategies to meet needs of different audiences.

Build enduring community partnerships and engage in collaborative programs with organizations that serve diverse audiences.

Develop themed tours for permanent and temporary exhibitions. Conduct inquiry-based tours for adults and students, and lectures and gallery talks as required or needed.

Assist in development of promotional materials related to adult educational programming.

Assist in development of funding proposals related to educational programming.

Manage processing and maintenance of registration records, handling of payments collected for these programs and compilation of information for billing, reports, and statistics related to attendance for adult and college programs.

Assist education team with other programs as directed.

Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Curator of Education.

Academic and Business Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in art history, fine arts, museum education, museum studies or related field. (Master’s degree welcomed but not required)

2-5 years of experience in museum education, public programming, teaching, or related fields.

Strong knowledge of art history and current museum teaching strategies.
