The VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 4–5. The teacher will implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with VPK standards, support children’s social and emotional growth, and prepare students for kindergarten readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement daily lesson plans aligned with VPK standards and curriculum
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Monitor and assess student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Prepare children for kindergarten by focusing on early literacy, math, and social skills
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety standards
  • Supervise children at all times, including during indoor and outdoor activities
  • Collaborate with staff and participate in meetings, trainings, and school events
Qualifications
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or higher in Early Childhood Education (required)
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and VPK standards
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Background screening in compliance with state regulations

  • Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
Work Schedule

School hours are Monday-Friday: 7:30am-4:00pm
