As a 4th Grade Teacher, you will develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines, establish rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate learners to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge aligned with each student’s ability. You will also maintain accurate student records, assess student progress, and prepare students for state assessments.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement instruction that adheres to CSUSA’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Create purposeful lesson plans to maximize learning and instructional time.
  • Present subject matter to students using real‑world, application‑based examples.
  • Review student records to understand each student’s strengths and needs, maintaining accurate records.
  • Use differentiated instruction and diagnostic assessment frequently to support student learning.
  • Generate progress reports and refer students to support personnel when needed.
  • Assign lessons, correct student work, and review oral presentations.
  • Coordinate class field trips as required.
  • Prepare students for state‑required achievement assessments.
  • Keep current in subject‑matter knowledge and share it for continuous curriculum improvement.
  • Assist in curriculum revision and selection of instructional materials.
  • Become acquainted with supplemental services beneficial to students.
Classroom Environment
  • Create and maintain a learning‑conducive classroom appropriate to student maturity and interests.
  • Maintain a positive rapport with students and demonstrate patience and nurturing support.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and displays student work where appropriate.
  • Implement all relevant student conduct policies.
  • Develop reasonable classroom behavior rules in line with CSUSA policy and maintain order fairly.
Instructional Planning
  • Develop lesson plans consistent with guidelines and goals.
  • Plan individual and group activities to meet instructional objectives.
  • Prepare for assigned classes and provide evidence of preparation.
  • Participate in curriculum planning meetings with staff.
  • Incorporate diagnostic information into IEPs as required.
  • Protect supplies, equipment, and materials needed for instruction.
School/Community Relations
  • Build cooperative relationships with parents/guardians and communicate regularly.
  • Cooperate with administration and staff and maintain confidentiality of student records.
  • Participate in parent communication activities and extracurricular events to support a positive school culture.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited institution or equivalent, with valid teaching certification.
  • One to three years of successful teaching experience (Student Teaching Internship may count).
  • Strong time‑management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written, active listening, negotiation, and influencing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Student Information System, and email communication.
  • Commitment to CSUSA values and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
  • Successful completion of criminal and employment background checks.
  • Adherence to the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
Work Environment
  • Usual school working conditions; may be noisy during high student traffic.
Physical Demands
  • No physical exertion required beyond occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.
FLSA Overtime Category

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
