Dreamers Leadership Academy: Inspire, Network, Shine

Program Length: 4 days in the Spring… Apply at the end of October

Location: Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Florida

Admissions Req: US high school student (grades 9-12) between the ages of 13-19 at the time of the event

Highlight: Dreams are what makes the world go round. Everything started with an idea, and behind a genius idea, is a dream. At the leadership program, Disney Dreamers Academy, teenagers are allowed to dream big and get motivated by celebrity mentor speakers for four days in spring. These mentors at this leadership program have been in their mentee’s shoes once, and they’ll tell you about their path and what they did to succeed.

Some of the mentors at this leadership program have been Terrence J, co-anchor of E! News, and Stephen

A. Smith (who you might know if you watch ESPN). Two other notable past mentors at this leadership program were Steve Harvey and Solodad O’Brian from CNN. In addition to meeting with famous celebs at this leadership program held in Disney World, you’ll also get the opportunity to see what is out there at the career workshops and develop vital skills like interviewing and networking that can definitely help set you up for success!

Any US high school student from the ages 13-19 can apply! And the application process for this leadership program is pretty fun as well (as you might expect — it’s Disney, afterall)! It really just involves writing 3 essays to help them get to know you better! Topics in the past have included things like: “What celebrity, community leader, or social media influencer inspires you and why?”

or “If you could impact one social issue, what would it be and why?”; and there are more to check out in the rulebook . Best of all, this leadership program is all-expenses paid for both yourself AND a parent/guardian! Yes, in a Disney theme park! 100 students and their parents get to go!
