Position: Teacher Assistant (Part Time)

Provides tutorial and general program assistance in the development and supervision of program participants in activities associated with the department’s after‑school program. Work includes tutorial/educational assistance programs, enrichment and character‑building initiatives, various prevention projects, and special events. Provides direct supervision and guidance to teacher aides in the delivery of effective instruction.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one year of experience and/or training working with school‑age children, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level determined by job classification) or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
  • CPR and basic first‑aid training, and Florida Department of Children and Families required early childhood education, teacher‑assistant, or childhood‑development associate certifications within one year of start date.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
