Director, Graduate Affairs
UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management seeks a Director, Graduate Affairs to lead graduate student success in its Master of Science, Certificate, and PhD programs. The Director will provide strategic leadership for graduate advising, support international students, and ensure students receive timely assistance at every stage of their academic journey.
ResponsibilitiesAcademic Advising & Student Support
- Oversee advising and student support services for graduate and international student programs, ensuring timely processing.
- Oversee Graduate Plans of Study, admission processes, registration, and interpretation of university policies.
- Manage Graduate Plans of Study maintenance and course substitution for smooth transfer of credits and timely degree completion.
- Manage dual-degree programs and input Graduate (PhD) awards into the university graduate system.
- Assist School Directors in resolving student concerns, advising, and providing registration assistance as needed.
- Attend College Partner meetings at main campus and support university student success, enrollment, and retention goals.
Enrollment, Recruitment & Engagement
- Lead orientation, recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives to promote graduate student progression.
- Assist the Assistant Dean and Lead Faculty with external international student programs (KHU, Disney Cohort).
Operations, Reporting & Leadership
- Provide backup support with student data analysis and generate reports for the Assistant Dean and Directors.
- Manage the Graduate Affairs staff and clarify university academic policies to administrators, faculty, and students.
- Perform other duties as assigned and make referrals to campus resources as needed.
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in graduate academic advising and student recruitment, preferably in hospitality, tourism, or a related program.
- Familiarity with Graduate Plans of Study and degree audit systems.
- Working knowledge of university academic policies and curriculum interpretation.
- Experience with student information systems such as Workday, Canvas, Slate, or equivalent.
- Experience with student retention strategies and persistence monitoring at the graduate level.
- Experience analyzing student data and generating reports for advising decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty directors and academic leadership.
