Coordinator, Student Outreach & Recruitment

Join Our Team! Valencia College is hiring a Coordinator, Student Outreach & Recruitment to join the Outreach & Recruitment Department at East Campus. In this role, you will help students successfully transition to college by building partnerships, engaging schools and communities, and creating meaningful college readiness experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with schools and community partners
  • Lead student recruitment and outreach efforts
  • Deliver workshops and college readiness sessions
  • Coordinate tours, information sessions, and events
  • Manage the Campus Ambassador Program
  • Track student engagement and outcomes
  • Support enrollment and transition initiatives
  • Develop and present information workshops and events on topics related to college access and transition to prospective students and parents
  • Implement district‑wide College Transition programs for various grade levels
  • Assist in developing and maintaining recruitment communication plans
  • Organize, coordinate, and conduct Group Tours and Experiences, Campus Intro Visits, and Information Session Presentations for potential students and families
  • Set and achieve objectives for target schools and populations in collaboration with the Assistant Director and Director of Transition Planning
  • Work collaboratively with other college staff to implement integrated recruitment and enrollment plans and reach target populations
  • Plan, coordinate, or assist with Signature outreach programs and events (e.g., College Night and Counselor Day)
  • Enter and track prospective student data and conduct ongoing evaluations of projects and programs through regular reporting
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Experience in recruitment, advising, or training
  • Experience designing and presenting workshops
  • Experience in education and working with students
  • Experience in event planning, management, execution, and evaluation
  • Experience with electronic databases and communication tools
  • Knowledge of Valencia College programs and college admissions/records requirements and policies
  • Skills in communicating effectively interpersonally, orally, and in writing
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and web‑based portals
  • Ability to develop and deliver related presentations and workshops
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and programs
  • Ability to travel locally between campus and off‑campus locations, and maintain multiple work sites

Additional Job Information
  • This position operates in a fully onsite environment
  • This position is eligible for Veteran’s Preference under Florida Statute 295.07(5)(a), F.S.
  • Must be able to travel locally on a flexible schedule as needed; reliable transportation is required
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours to accommodate department needs
Working Conditions
  • The job primarily operates in a professional office environment and within the community, utilizing standard office equipment
  • Tasks may take place in classrooms, programming venues, or outdoors
  • Noise levels are moderate to loud; physical demands include frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to travel locally and may need to work evening and weekend hours
