Position: Counselor - After-School All-Stars

Job Summary

Assist the Site Supervisor in delivering services for an Orlando After‑School All‑Stars (Orlando ASAS) after‑school and/or summer program, ensuring that the youth programming, behavioral expectations, and program objectives meet the needs of staff, youth, families, and the public.

Work Hours

School year:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 3:30p.m. to 6:15p.m.;
Wednesday: 2:30p.m. to 6:15p.m.;
Summer:
Monday through Thursday, 7:30a.m. – 5:30p.m. (Schedules assigned based on applicant availability and programmatic need.)

Work Locations

Carver Middle School, College Park Middle School, Colonial High School, Howard Middle School, Memorial Middle School, Odyssey Middle School, Roberto Clemente Middle School, Lake Nona Middle School, Luminary Middle School, Innovation Middle School.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordination and supervision of enrichment and athletic activities.
  • Help discipline activities and consult with parents on discipline and progress.
  • Support teachers in enrichment activities.
  • Ensure fair play, sportsmanship, and safety during athletic activities and games.
  • Assist the Site Supervisor with accurate and timely reporting of staff, program scheduling, payroll, inventory, and youth attendance.
  • Help implement Orlando ASAS policy and procedures in operations at the site.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety and security of the program and facility.
Minimum Requirements
  • Current high school senior (or entering senior year if applying over the summer) or higher; some experience in an organized educational, recreation or leisure services field, or equivalent combination of related training and experience.
  • Applicant must possess a valid Florida driver’s license or state .
  • Applicant must be 17or older.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Certification by the Florida Recreation andPark Association desired, but not required.
Other Information

This is a part‑time position with no guarantee of a certain number of hours and no benefits. The position is a temporary/seasonal contract renewable annually based on performance and business needs.
