Under the supervision of the Training Center Manager, the Service Technical Training Instructor improves Kia dealership technician vehicle repair skills and Fixed Right First-Time performance through the effective delivery of performance‑based technical training courses. These courses are delivered in the training centers or through distance learning.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPersonally Performed Duties:
- Facilitate performance‑based training courses.
- Conduct training courses at the training centers or via distance learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Automotive Technology degree preferred.
Overall Related
Experience:
- Must have a strong working knowledge and experience with the delivery of performance‑based technical training curriculum.
- Working knowledge of dealership service operations with technician work experience preferred.
Directly Related
Experience:
- 5+ years teaching experience at the high school, college, adult education, or manufacturer/distributor level in a technical (automotive preferred) environment.
- 3 or more years of experience in the automotive industry preferred.
Other:
- ASE Master Automobile Technician (A1‑A8), Advanced Engine Performance Specialist Certification (L1), and Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist Certification (L3).
- Must have valid Driver’s License and maintain a responsible record that meets the criteria established by KUS.
- May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays.
- Occasional travel is required domestically and/or internationally.
