Camen Academy for the Performing Arts is a unique and dynamic private school for students ages 3-22 that combines the power of the arts with evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies. With small student-to-teacher ratios, we are dedicated to fostering both academic achievement and personal growth for students with a wide range of unique abilities.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Behavior Support Specialist/Floater who is flexible, dependable, compassionate, energetic, and dedicated to supporting students with various academic and behavioral needs. This role plays a vital part in promoting a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment while ensuring that each student can thrive academically, socially, and behaviorally.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily supervision and support during carline, lunch, and recess to ensure student safety and engagement.
- Assist students with implementing behavioral strategies aligned with their individualized intervention plans.
- Offer academic support within classrooms, helping students work toward their individualized learning goals.
- Step in as a classroom substitute when needed to maintain a supportive and consistent learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and administrators to ensure continuity of student support.
- Model positive behavior and reinforce the school’s mission of combining creativity, learning, and ABA-based education.
- Experience working with students with unique learning or behavioral needs.
- Familiarity with ABA principles (RBT certification is preferred).
- Ability to adapt quickly, multitask, and provide calm, consistent support in a variety of settings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in education, psychology, or related field preferred.
