Job Summary

South College invites applications for the position of on‑ground Adjunct Faculty Member for Anatomy & Physiology at the Orlando campus in Orlando, FL. The adjunct faculty member will provide instruction for Anatomy & Physiology on a quarter‑by‑quarter appointment.

Employment Type

Part‑time, quarter‑by‑quarter appointment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide quality instruction in each assigned course within the approved academic program curriculum.
  • Assist the Dean/Department Chair in the development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of the curriculum, including sequence of courses and student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in institution/school/department committees as appropriate.
  • Participate in scholarship and service activities to meet South College outcomes.
  • Respond in a timely manner to specific and general information requests from the institution and administrative officials, prospective employers, professional organizations, public agencies, private foundations, general public, and students.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of linguistic expression in written and oral communications.
  • Ensure all academic program requirements and documentation (e.g., clinical evaluations, competency documentation) are completed and submitted on established deadlines.
  • Meet all faculty expectations on a weekly basis.
  • Manage all classroom activities appropriately.
  • Be reasonably accessible to students for questions and assistance.
  • Monitor educational and professional literature for best practices related to courses taught.
  • Assist with curricular and policy changes as requested by the Dean/Department Chair.
  • Assist with the selection of new textbooks as appropriate.
  • Participate in professional development activities – minimum of one per year.
  • Adhere to all institutional and school/department policies as described in the job description, employee/faculty handbook, or other guidelines.
  • Exhibit advanced verbal and written communication skills in stressful situations involving students or co‑workers.
  • Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment requiring quick adaptation skills.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Dean/Department Chair.
Qualifications Education
  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in the discipline, or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline.
Experience
  • Prior teaching experience and/or practical/clinical experience in the discipline preferred.
  • Excellence in postsecondary teaching preferred.
  • Experience with Canvas LMS.
  • Local candidates only.
Licensure
  • Documentation of applicable licenses/certifications is required.
