Supported Employment Liaison

Position SummaryThis is a professional position serving as the primary connection between the region and State Office, supporting statewide employment initiatives. The role leads the region’s Supported Employment Initiative by fostering partnerships with schools, employers, and community organizations to expand pathways to competitive integrated employment at or above minimum wage for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The SE Liaison oversees employment programs such as the Employment Enhancement Program (EEP), coordinates provider trainings and quarterly meetings, facilitates transition efforts between APD and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, ensures compliance with State Office policies and iBudget guidelines, and delivers technical assistance to staff and providers.
Responsibilities- Work directly with the State Office in Tallahassee regarding surveys, reports, and statewide program development.
- Participate in statewide employment calls with State Office.
- Update pre‑enrollment client employment data in iConnect following established protocols.
- Develop and implement the Region’s Supported Employment Initiative, including outreach to schools, job fairs, technical educational settings, community colleges, and employers to create pathways for paid/unpaid internships and job opportunities.
- Act as the regional point person for employment services for other state agencies, providers, schools, employers, regional APD staff, clients, and stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate regional Supported Employment certification training courses, ensuring use of State Office approved materials.
- Respond to questions regarding pre‑vocational and supported employment services in accordance with the iBudget Waiver Services Coverage and Limitations Handbook and the iBudget Waiver Services Provider Rate Table.
- Provide oversight for the Employment Enhancement Program (EEP), ensuring referrals promote competitive integrated employment for individuals in pre‑enrollment to improve quality of life.
- Coordinate and facilitate quarterly supported employment provider meetings, maintain electronic records of technical assistance and training materials, update forms and presentations, and follow up with participants as needed.
- Complete the Best Practices and Social Security Work Incentives Training, stay current on training requirements, and provide in‑service training on topics identified by the quality assurance vendor or regional QA staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Knowledge of providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to publicly speak and work with large groups.
- Ability to train adult learners.
- Skills in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
