SUMMARYThe Faith Formation Coordinator (Religious Education) is responsible for coordinating and administering parish religious education programs, including sacramental preparation for children (e.g., First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion). This role supports catechists and volunteers, ensures effective program delivery, and maintains program operations in alignment with diocesan standards. In parishes without a Parish Catechetical Leader, the Coordinator works directly with the Pastor to support the parish’s faith formation efforts.
The coordinator is not authorized to teach catechist certification courses in theology.

- Coordinates and administers parish religious education programs, including sacramental preparation.
- Recruits, trains, and supports catechists and volunteers, ensuring compliance with diocesan certification and Safe Environment requirements.
- Implements curriculum, selects materials approved by the Diocese, and reports any supplemental catechetical resources and material needs.
- Coordinates class schedules, sacramental preparation timelines, and related program activities.
- Maintains accurate program, sacramental records, faith formation registration, and other pertinent data or information.
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the program budget.
- Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations to the Pastor or Parish Catechetical Leader.
- Utilizes the parish bulletin, weekly update, website, social media and other media to communicate and market catechetical programming, best practices, and milestones.
- Ensures compliance with all diocesan policies related to faith formation programs.
- Collaborates with parish staff to support overall formation efforts.
- Provides faith formation support to the parish school and Morning Star.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings
- Attends meetings/events convened by the diocese as related to catechetical ministry or job-responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Catechetics, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
