As a SAAB 2000 Instructor Pilot at CAE/SIMCOM, you will play a key role in developing confident, highly skilled pilots through world‑class simulator and ground school instruction.
Responsibilities- Deliver flight simulator and ground school training in accordance with regulatory standards, CAE curriculum, and customer requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) guiding clients through all phases of training.
- Provide simulator, flight, and classroom instruction for licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
- Conduct thorough, professional pre‑ and post‑flight simulator briefings.
- Complete required administrative tasks, including training records, remedial training recommendations, and monitoring instructor qualifications.
- Support curriculum and courseware development as an SME when required.
- After approximately 1.5+ years, and based on business needs, qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.
- Participate in training programs that may include international travel and extended stays.
- Uphold a professional, welcoming learning environment and tailor training to diverse customers.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with CAE and FAA requirements.
- High School diploma or state‑issued equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 3,000+ hours of total flight time.
- 2–5 years of job‑relevant experience.
- Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Must be authorized to live/work in the United States.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet‑based programs.
- Ability to participate in CAE’s DOT Anti‑Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Hold an unrestricted ATP certificate and one unrestricted PIC type rating.
- Excellent fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Strong listening and presentation skills.
- Existing instructor qualification or type rating.
- FAR Part 135 experience.
- SAAB 2000 Type Rating.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to deliver “red carpet” customer service.
- Ability to tailor training to diverse customer needs.
- Keen attention to detail and strong record‑keeping skills.
- Previous experience as 142 Instructor and/or Training Center Evaluator.
- Experience flying business aircraft is a plus.
- Constantly ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Occasionally move into various positions, including confined spaces.
- Remain in stationary positions for prolonged periods (standing or sitting).
- Occasionally move about to accomplish tasks.
- Occasionally adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions.
