Tavares High School This posting is for Algebra 1 (Math 5-9/6-12 Certification). Tavares High School is located just a few blocks away from picturesque downtown Tavares, also known as "America's Seaplane City." Tavares has a popular seaplane base on Lake Dora just a short walk from the high school. Roughly 80 teachers and 1,500 students attend school in the classic Florida style building.
