2026-27 Middle School Science Teacher

Location:

Bridge Prep Academy of Orange Campus, Orlando, FL

Salary:
Standard Base Salary (Orange County): $51,607.00 – $53,848.00 (Teacher I Degreed to Teacher II–III Certified)

6–12 Science Certification Supplement:
Additional $2,000.00 annually (Mandatory addition for serving in a middle school science position)

Master's Degree Supplement:
Additional $2,500.00 annually (Conferred degree in a directly related field)

Core Responsibilities
  • Inquiry-Based Instruction:
    Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned daily middle school science lessons; utilize lab safety protocols, hands-on experiments, and formative data to provide targeted small-group and individual instruction.
  • Classroom Culture:
    Establish consistent routines and implement school wide behavior systems with fidelity, creating a safe, inclusive, and inquisitive learning environment.
  • Student Support:
    Differentiate instruction for diverse learners (ESE, 504, ELL, and intervention) by implementing required accommodations and modifications.
  • Family Partnership:
    Actively engage families as true partners in learning through consistent, clear communication regarding student progress.
  • Professional Responsibilities:
    Submit lesson plans, student data, and compliance documentation on time; actively participate in weekly PD, department check-ins, and coaching sessions.
Measurable Year 1 Success Metrics
  • 70%+ of students demonstrate grade-level mastery in core science standards.
  • Classroom culture aligns with school wide behavior expectations with minimal discipline referrals.
  • Achieve "Highly Effective" ratings on professionalism indicators (punctuality, timely lesson plan and data submissions).
Key Qualifications

Required:

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited educational institution.
  • Certification:
    Valid or eligible Florida Teaching Certification in Middle Grades General Science (5-9) or Science (6-12).
  • Mindset:
    Alignment with SMART Management and Bridge Prep Academy's mission, values, and student-first culture.
  • Compliance:
    Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Preferred:

  • Prior instructional experience teaching middle school science.
  • Master's Degree in Science Education, STEM, or a related subject area (eligible for salary supplement).
