Job Details Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Program Director, Surgical Technology to provide academic leadership, instruction, and program management for an established Surgical Technology program in Orlando, Florida.

Reporting directly to the Academic Dean, this individual will oversee curriculum delivery, faculty management, student success initiatives, and day-to-day program operations while maintaining a teaching load within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Academic Instruction:
    Teach up to 16 college‑level courses annually within the Surgical Technology curriculum
  • Deliver classroom, laboratory, live, and recorded instruction
  • Facilitate student engagement and hands‑on skills development
  • Provide guidance and support to help students achieve academic success
  • Program Leadership:
    Oversee daily operations of the Surgical Technology program
  • Manage course scheduling and program planning
  • Conduct curriculum reviews and support continuous program improvement
  • Ensure program quality and compliance with applicable standards
  • Faculty Management:
    Supervise and support adjunct faculty
  • Assist with faculty development and performance expectations
  • Promote instructional excellence and student‑centered learning
  • Department Service:
    Participate in committee meetings and departmental initiatives
  • Contribute to curriculum discussions and academic planning
  • Support student success and retention efforts
  • Assist with accreditation and program assessment activities
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Current Surgical Technology certification
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in Surgical Technology
Preferred
  • Previous teaching experience in higher education, vocational education, or healthcare training
  • Leadership or management experience
  • Experience supervising faculty or staff
  • Passion for mentoring students and developing future healthcare professionals

The ideal candidate is a certified Surgical Technologist with a strong combination of clinical expertise, educational leadership, and a passion for student success. Candidates with experience managing academic programs, leading teams, or teaching within allied health education environments will be highly regarded.
