Valencia College is excited to announce an opportunity for an Assistant Dean, Engineering and Built Environment. As a member of the school’s academic leadership team, this role partners closely with the Dean, Associate Dean(s), and Chair(s) to support instructional excellence and faculty development. The Assistant Dean will lead efforts to observe and coach part-time faculty, provide actionable feedback, and leverage course success data to strengthen teaching practices and improve student outcomes.
Position Requirements- Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education leadership or academic administration or related experience developing and/or mentoring colleagues.
- Experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Experience with project management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of materials science and/or materials testing.
- Experience interpreting and applying building codes and/or conducting building inspections.
- Experience with ABET accreditation processes

General Position Description
This position serves as a member of the School’s academic leadership team, partnering with the Dean, Associate Dean(s), and Chair(s) to provide learning leadership and supervision for part-time faculty.
