Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00 Hourly
Job SummaryThe Teacher Assistant-Floater supports students PreK-12th grade. The Floater is not assigned to a specific classroom on a regular basis but is assigned based on the greatest need of each day.
Job Responsibilities- Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher's direction.
- Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
- Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.
- Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
- Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
- Perform Paraprofessional duties in his/her absence.
- Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.)
- Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)
- Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
- Attend required trainings, meetings and events.
- Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
- Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- G.E.D. or High School Diploma
- DCF 45 hour within 90 days of hire if doing after care/summer or camp.
- CRP/First Aid Training
- Prefer at least 1 year experience working with children in an elementary classroom setting.
- Prefer experience working with students with disabilities
- Flexible and able to adjust to different teaching/classroom styles.
