Dramatic Education, Inc. is an educational arts company established to provide high-quality arts and enrichment programming for school-age students. The program develops and enriches cognitive, physical, social, and cultural skills for children in grades K–12. Annually, Dramatic Education serves over 5,000 individuals across more than 60 schools and community organizations. Since 2010, the organization has implemented developmentally appropriate programs that support academic achievement and whole-child development.
This position supports student achievement and social-emotional development through small group instruction, arts-integrated enrichment, and structured supervision, while ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. The Teaching Artist Assistant reports to the Site Coordinator and works collaboratively with Site Coordinators, teachers,instructional staff, enrichment partners, and school personnel to support high-quality program delivery and student engagement.
Lead Teaching Artist Assistant (TAA)
Salary: $19.30 per hour, Grant Funded
Core Responsibilities- The Teaching Artist Assistant provides small group instruction, tutoring, and homework assistance to reinforce school-day learning and improve student outcomes.
- The Teaching Artist Assistant assists with classroom management to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- The Teaching Artist Assistant supervises students during transitions, meals, and program activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and appropriate behavior at all times.
- The Teaching Artist Assistant collaborates with program staff and school-day teachers to align enrichment activities with identified student needs and academic priorities.
- The Teaching Artist Assistant supports project-based learning, arts integration, cultural enrichment, and youth development activities that increase student engagement.
- The Teaching Artist Assistant assists with attendance tracking, data collection, and reporting to support program accountability and grant compliance.
- The Teaching Artist Assistant builds positive relationships with students to support consistent attendance, engagement, and social-emotional growth.
- The Teaching Artist Assistant participates in required training, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development to support program quality and effectiveness.
- High School Diploma required, Associate’s degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to work effectively with students in grades K–8.
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to successfully complete a Level 2 background check and drug screening.
- Candidates must be dependable, organized, and detail-oriented, with reliable transportation.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Hours- Monday through Friday
- Before-school hours: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- After-school hours: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Summer programming hours may vary based on site needs
