Wind Turbine Technician; Renewables

Overview

A Wind Turbine Technician is responsible for routine service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Siemens Gamesa and Senvion wind turbines. Based at a home wind farm, you’ll also support a mobile team that covers up to three additional sites as needed.

• Conduct blade inspections, thoroughly examining all blade quadrants.
• Perform maintenance on turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs in a safe and timely manner.
• Climb turbines (up to 300 feet) and work in confined spaces at elevation.
• Record and report service activity accurately using company tools and protocols.
• Maintain compliance with company safety standards, site rules, and environmental protocols.
• Be physically prepared for job demands including ladder climbing, lifting, bending, working overhead, and adverse weather conditions.

• High school diploma or equivalent experience or GED or equivalent.
• 2 years  technical, mechanical, or electrical field experience related to wind turbines.
• Able to work safely in a team setting and meet physical demands, including weight under 265 lbs and passing a job-specific medical exam.
• Experience with electrical systems: PLCs and converters; customer-facing.
• Willing and able to travel up to 95%, domestically and internationally, and maintain valid passport and driver s license with a clean record.

This role may be based in various locations across the United States. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits, including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding our benefits can be found here:  The base salary range for this position varies by location. For positions based in the United States, the base salary range is $58,000 to $73,000 annually.
Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
