As a Sales Operations Manager at Siemens Energy, your day starts with reviewing the latest energy market trends and staying up-to-date with our competitors' moves, sharing these developments with sales managers in the North America region to gather their insights. Depending on the planning activities' schedule, your insights contribute to delivering a high-quality monthly sales forecast, supporting R&D decisions, factory load planning, and resource allocation, while ensuring all required updates are implemented into our CRM system (SFDC) so all activities use one source of truth.
You attend meetings to discuss the latest marketing activities and strategies for our gas turbine portfolio, acting as a strategic advisor and leading or participating in special strategic assignments to protect or grow specific elements of the portfolio. You also conduct win/loss analyses of bids with the respective sales teams, creating a feedback loop across the organization while liaising with colleagues across the globe to grow your internal network and transfer learnings from other regions into the North America region.
Your work has a significant global impact in a large, intercultural environment, requiring a growth and learner's mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under minimal supervision within given boundaries.
- Creating transparency about energy markets and our competition; coach members of the Sales Team in North America on price analysis, competitors analysis, win and loss feedback, and market trends.
- Developing & driving our regional strategy to position our portfolio for the mid and long-term; marketing activities (customer events, market analysis).
- Economic evaluation of power plant offerings to position our portfolio.
- Delivering a high-quality sales forecast planning of the gas turbine portfolio to support R&D decisions, factory load planning, and resource allocation.
- Creating a feedback loop to portfolio managers, sales colleagues, and other parts of the organization about won and lost offers following the business tempo.
- Lead a team or be a part of special strategic initiatives impacting the global organization; lead and guide new team members on internal and external processes required to be in compliance with SE business excellence procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration; preferred:
Master’s degree and/or MBA. - 8+ years of work experience with or in power generation, oil & gas, or related industries; strategy and consulting background preferred, with power transaction or contracting experience in North America or international energy markets.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision within given boundaries, manage respective stakeholders, and interpret numbers and data visualization tools.
- Motivation to learn new software tools and follow corporate processes; a growth and learner’s mindset, with the confidence to take on first-time tasks while asking for help when needed.
- Asking the right questions to get the answers you need, with the desire to deliver quality results shared across the organization.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to convey complex subjects concisely, with readiness to work in a multinational corporation and intercultural environment.
