Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Landfill Gas/Pump Technician to support our landfill site in Orlando. The role involves a variety of daily tasks to support landfill gas systems, including operation, maintenance, inspection, and reporting duties. The technician will work on-site, managing equipment and ensuring the efficiency of landfill gas operations.

Responsibilities

+ Perform maintenance on pumps, flares, and gas wells.

+ Conduct well raising and pipe fusion tasks.

+ Read gas levels using gas meters such as GEM
500 or Envisions.

+ Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on operations.

+ Oversee project work and provide assistance as needed.

+ Conduct inspections and field sampling.

+ Work in outdoor conditions, navigating the landfill site.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanical background with strong problem-solving abilities.

+

Experience with pump maintenance, specifically QED/Pump One/Blackhawk.

+ Understanding of computer technologies, especially Outlook.

+ Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

+ Ability to work in outdoor conditions on a large landfill site.

Skills & Qualifications

+ Pipe fusion experience is a plus.

+ Experience in landfill gas monitoring is advantageous.

+ Proficiency in Excel is beneficial.

+ 40 HR HAZWOPER certification is preferred but not required initially.

+ 1+ years of experience as an environmental technician, landfill gas technician, or pump technician preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is entirely on-site, at a large landfill located in Orlando, FL The technician will work outdoors, navigating multiple hills and slopes, and servicing 400-500 wells/connection points. Steel toe boots are required, and there may be a voucher available for boot purchase in certain circumstances. The role offers the best equipment and tools, opportunities for advancement, an ESOP plan, paid birthdays off, 7 billable holidays, and 80 hours of PTO after 6 months.

Some weeks may require working up to 50 hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
