Technical Trainer – Electric​/Power Plant Operations-Maintenance

OUC - The Reliable One is presently seeking Technical Trainer (Electric) to join the Technical Training division. In this role, you will design curriculum, create technical documentation, and deliver hands-on and classroom instruction aligned with industry standards and organizational needs.

You will also support apprenticeship progression, competency-based assessments, and ongoing employee development while partnering closely with operations and maintenance teams. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and subject-matter expert who thrives in both field and classroom settings and is passionate about building a strong, well-trained electric utility workforce.

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Associate’s degree in Business, Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field of study from an accredited college or university (preferred).
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the electrical power generation field (based on area of assignment), (required) to include:
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Power Plant Operations as a Control Center Operator I or the equivalent journeyman level power plant operator (based on area of assignment);
• Experience in Power Plant operations (operations area of assignment); or
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in Power Plant maintenance (maintenance area of assignment);
• Experience in a power production journeyman or master technician role working in the maintenance and operation of commercial grade generators ranging in size from 5 to 4300 kilowatts (preferred).
• OSHA safety guidelines training or exposure (e.g. OSHA 30, etc.) (preferred);
  Technical training related certifications (CompTIA CTT+) (preferred);
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to obtain Class A CDL license if necessary.

Salary Range: $40.33 - $60.49 hourly ($83,846.40 - $ annually) – commensurate with experience
