Job Summary
The Project Engineer, Facility is responsible for expediting review and response for Requests for Information (RFI), shop drawings and submittals and maintaining as‑built information. Aids superintendent and field engineer with contractor supervision. Coordinates with architects and engineers on all ride/show mechanical, electrical, plumbing inputs for the facility. Maintains all QA/QC documentation. Monitors construction quality and inspects the project for scope compliance weekly.
Coordinates inspections with the authority having jurisdiction and the contractor. Periodically audits the contractor’s field documents for inclusion of latest documents.
- Prepare complete, accurate and timely submittal and punch list logs for construction projects based on project drawings and specifications. Track and receive approved submittals from architect/engineer and/or Universal’s creative team, notifying if review and approval has potential schedule impact.
- Prepare, review and process RFIs, tracking responses in required time frame. Maintain RFI log as required.
- Prepare and track all correspondence with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, etc.
- During construction phase, proactively manage project to achieve quality, schedule, budget and safety. Utilize and maintain schedule and document management to track and record project performance.
- Inform management of productivity, costs, quality control, document management and processing of applications for payment. Notify management of any issues that arise which affect quality, budget, progress and safety.
- Distribute directives to contractors/vendors including drawings, specifications, and general conditions. Include any accepted alternates or addendums with documents. Assist Project Manager by reviewing all necessary backup relating to change requests and proposing a settlement value.
- Schedule all required construction meetings with required personnel including contractors, architects and owners. Take accurate and complete meeting minutes and distribute them in a timely manner. Provide agenda for owner/architect/contractor pre‑bid, project and closeout meetings.
- Submit building permit application, follow‑up on review progress and track until approved. Responsible for timely tracking receipt and completion of all required project and close‑out documents per contract.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The Project Engineer must possess commitment, initiative, integrity and teamwork in the execution of their duties. The Project Engineer acts as a liaison between the owner, architect, consultants, subcontractors and the project team using good communication skills to process administrative work including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, claims and change orders. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for meeting minutes and assisting with scheduling.

EducationBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture preferred.
ExperienceMinimum of 3+ years of general construction related experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the construction field. Experience in theme park development, construction, show and ride systems design or fabrication is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
