Job Summary

Provides complex planning and scheduling support to executive management in lead capacity of planning/scheduling responsibilities at the portfolio, PMO, or land level development project assignments. Supports the project team with planning and schedule development on large multi-disciplined program(s)/project(s) throughout the entire project life cycle spectrum from concept development through turnkey completions, consistent with project needs and appropriate policies and procedures. Scope of planning and scheduling responsibilities include development/establishment of program/project schedules, show/ride concept development, show, ride, facility, area development designs, building construction, show/ride production, installation, and commissioning stages.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares program project life cycle and project master schedules and statuses the project schedules utilizing Primavera software. Develops comprehensive plans and schedules from multiple discipline drawings and specifications. Prepares project plans and works with scoping/strategy documents to develop integrated project master schedules. Prepares schedule contract milestones for bid packages.
  • Provides project team with schedule guidance during all phases of the project. Coordinates with estimating/finance teams to develop appropriate level of detail scope definition and durations for schedule activities to support project monitoring and project controls reporting needs. Coordinates with contractors, vendors, and responsible project team members to develop and integrate activity durations and logical sequences required to perform project work.

    Integrates project schedule input from all internal and external project organizations.
  • Leads planning and coordination meetings as required to support planning and monitoring functions. Collects/reports progress, evaluates progress variances, develops work‑around plans, and coordinates resolution of variances. Conducts resource loading/resource analysis and develops and statuses earned value tracking tools and progress curves as required. Produces reports as required to support project team needs and executive management reporting. Frequently communicates, reports, and interacts with project and core team members including vendors and outside consultants on complex topics.
  • Implements highly effective project control tools and reports and provides insightful analysis that contributes to schedule certainty.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Information
  • Proven prior project controls leadership, supervisory experience preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of theme parks, show/ride product lines and design and construction.
  • 8+ years of Primavera scheduling experience required.
  • Possess strong understanding of design and construction progress measurement.
  • Working knowledge of architectural/engineering and show and ride design and production.
  • Must be a well‑organized self‑starter with strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of practical project controls applications and earned value measurement.
  • Ability to supervise staff, consultants, and suppliers including setting goals, prioritization of tasks, coordinating work, and managing time.
  • Strong meeting leadership, facilitation, and alignment skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to successfully influence and lead a team.
  • Ability to appropriate delegate and coach/mentor talent.
  • Ability to successfully negotiate schedule changes with vendors and contractors.
  • Basic conflict resolution skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of planning techniques.

Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or an applicable field required. Advanced degrees preferred.

Experience 9+ years engineering/construction planning and scheduling experience required. 8+ years theme park planning/coordination experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
