Description
Leidos is seeking a Civil - Site Engineer to join our civil engineering department in our growing Charlotte, Orlando, Atlanta, and/or Portland office to work on a variety of electric utility projects. This is a senior engineering role involving design reviews, development of junior staff, and leadership on client projects. The position involves site visits to client substation facilities, occasional travel, and front-facing client interactions such as kick-off meetings and lunch-and-learns.
The candidate will ensure quality control, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and help develop bids and proposals. The role is part of a design team of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians.
This position is ideally staffed at the Leidos offices in Charlotte, NC;
Orlando, FL;
Atlanta, GA; or Portland, OR. Hybrid or fully remote arrangements may be considered. Other eligible locations include Hendersonville, TN;
Walled Lake, MI;
Framingham, MA;
Denver, CO;
Chicago, IL.
- Land development permitting including NPDES, stormwater management, and knowledge of other local, state, and/or federal regulations and permit requirements
- Research additional site data through various sources
- Site layout, grading, and drainage design
- Stormwater modeling and design
- Erosion and sediment control design
- Access road design
- Utility coordination and design
- Retaining wall layout and design
- Documentation of all supporting calculations
- Quantity take-offs
- Cost estimation of project designs and construction cost estimation
- Construction drawings
- Construction specifications
- Construction observation and field engineering
- Coordination and collaboration with other design disciplines
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related degree
- Engineer with minimum of 4 years of directly applicable civil-site design experience
- P.E. license preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred) and/or Micro Station Open Site Designer (considered)
- Experience with Hydraflow, ICPR, and other hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other general software tools
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills
- Team player with ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff
- Able to execute projects and manage client relationships with limited supervision
- Willing to travel up to 25%
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
